Have you ever wanted to be a dungeon master but aren’t sure where to start? Do you have friends who want to play Dungeons & Dragons but nobody is willing to run the game? Are you overwhelmed by all the different elves and wizards you have to pretend to be?

Join us Sunday, February 19, at Hinterlands bar from 2-4 PM for a casual discussion led by an experienced DM. We’ll talk about how to get started, how to choose the best game system/campaign setting for your group, how to run your first few sessions, and how to respond to challenges you might face as a new DM. This will be a two-way discussion, not a lecture, so attendees will be encouraged to ask questions and share their own thoughts and opinions.

This discussion will *not* cover advanced topics, dense rules explanations, and other bullroar you don’t need to know. DMing should be fun and satisfying. This will be practical advice for new DMs to get you playing as quickly and easily as possible. While the discussion will center on D&D, the advice will be applicable to many other RPGs.

To be clear, we will NOT be playing any actual D&D. However, if there’s interest, we can stick around after and play some board games!

Note to other experienced DMs/GMs/storytellers: You are also very welcome to attend and participate in the discussion or just talk shop with other DMs.
